I bought this Belkin Wireless Play Router F7D4302 at Costco despite all of the negative reviews. Costco has a liberal return policy and the price was right. The first thing that I did after unboxing the router was to upgrade the firmware to the August update using the address stated in some of the reviews. I now have 1 wired computer, 2 wireless computers, a wired blu ray player, and a wireless blu ray player connected. All currently function without any problems. The setup was easy and performance seems very good. This product may have been a problem at one time, but it seems like somebody (Belkin) may have been listening since this has been a very good router so far.
Just wanted to update my experience with the router since so many people are having severe problems. In my experience, you must update to version 027 of the firmware. If not you will have all of the problems mentioned by the other reviewers. I can’t excuse Belkin for not getting it right earlier, but I am running that version with no problems.

While Glyph PortaGig 50 SSD Solidstate, I’ve been very happy with my purchase. The other day I did have a problem in that the Glyph stopped being recognized by my computer. Nothing I did helped (I did all the standard stuff), but all it took was to remove the power adapter from the rear and then reinsert. Viola! It worked fine again. It is small, cute, and fast for an external drive. I’m thinking of getting another.

Coconut oil has been steadily gaining popularity over the last number of years, and with good reason. It contains many health benefits from boosting the immune system, increasing mineral absorption, anti-aging effects and most interesting stimulating the metabolism aiding weight loss! Sounds good doesn’t it. As it becomes more popular with athletes and celebrities alike you can expect to hear a lot more about the amazing health benefits of coconut oil!

A Healthy Fat That Helps You Burn Fat!

While it’s true that over 90% of coconut oil’s fatty acids are saturated fat they are not the same as the saturated fat found in animal products and actually the main reason it’s so healthy. The saturated fats in coconut come from medium-chain-triglycerides (MCT) which the body does not readily store as fat. Instead the body prefers to use MCT as a source of fuel, meaning you will burn them for energy rather than store them as fat or have them attach to the walls of your arteries. MCT are shorter than the long-chain-triglycerides (LCT) found in other fats and oils and require less work to breakdown making a quick and efficient energy source.

The good news doesn’t stop there. The rapid digestion of MCT within the body has a thermogenic, or calorie burning, effect which can actually help you to burn more calories besides the ones you get from the oil it’s self, speeding up your metabolism! Of course you still need to be eating healthy and exercising regularly to get the benefits.

What About Cholesterol?

Once again, unlike saturated fat from meat, the saturated fat in coconut oil actually raises levels of good (HDL) cholesterol. Coconut oil’s effects on health can be seen in the people of the Philippines and Asia where it has been the main source of dietary fat for thousands of years while the people remain slim with obesity and heart disease being rare. So anyone who dismisses coconut oil because of it’s saturated fat content clearly hasn’t done their research.

Boost Immunity

Coconut oil has a natural antibiotic effect in the body killing the bad bacteria without damaging the good bacteria, helping to maintain a healthy gut. A healthy gut is directly linked to the condition of overall health.

It also helps to boost the immune system due to its high concentration of lauric acid and caprylic acid, fatty acids which possess antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiviral properties so potent that they are being studied in medical trials for their potential to treat HIV/AIDS. Coconut oil also increases the absorption of minerals calcium (strong bones) and magnesium (nerve function and youthful skin) as well as amino acids (for lean muscle) from the foods we consume.

How To Use

Coconut oil can be used in place of any other fats or vegetable oils from an alternative to butter or for cooking and baking. It has a very mild taste and being solid at room temperature it has the same texture and consistency as butter. By making this simple switch you can actually aid weight loss thanks to the MTC.

When it comes to cooking, coconut oil is quite possibly the best option as it has a high smoke point (the heat it can tolerate before becoming damaged) unlike unsaturated vegetable oils which become unhealthy and damaged when exposed to high heats (think sunflower oil or rapeseed oil). While there are other vegetable oils such as extra virgin olive oil which are very healthy and full of heart and skin healthy antioxidants they are best kept for salads or added to foods after they have been cooked as they too can become damaged at high heats.

You can even use coconut oil topically on dry skin or to help soothe sun burnt skin while speeding up the healing process. It can also help to improve the condition of the hair by minimising protein loss (which leaves hair dry and brittle) and helps to soothe dry scalp conditions such as dandruff.

While coconut oil undoubtedly offers many health benefits it’s important to note that it is a fat and all fats, good or bad are high in calories. A tablespoon of coconut oil contains about 120 calories. You can still enjoy all of the benefits of healthy fats as long as you use in moderation and factor the calories into your total calorie intake.

Buying Coconut Oil

When buying coconut oil the health food shop is your best bet. Look for virgin and if possible organic coconut oil but most importantly, make sure the brand you choose says:

Unbleached

Undeodorised

Unfiltered and

Chemical free.

Expect to hear a lot more about coconut oil in the future as its many health benefits continue to be discovered…and especially if you’re talking to me for more than five minutes.

One more popular of Cuisinart Rice Cooker is the FRC-800. It is a fair bit more costly at a standard price of $270, but it includes functions that certainly make it worth the price, if you have the money of course. One of the functions that make this rice cooker great is its “Fuzzy Logic technology”, which automatically adapts the temperature and remaining time to the rice currently contained inside the pot, so there are no mistakes and your rice is great every time. This is also a big cooker, which cooks up to fifteen cups of rice at a time, so it’s fantastic for serving lots of people at a time. It’s a common rice cooker to see used in restaurants and cafes because of its large size and its automatic functions

Recently I had the opportunity to read the rough cut edition of the book “Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures (ARCH) (Authorized Self-Study Guide), Second Edition”, ISBN 9781587058431, thanks to Pearson Education and Safari Online to offering to access the rough cut.
I would strongly recommend this ARCH CCDP ARCH 642-874 3rd Edition for the Cisco CCDP certification aspirers. Since I am working on the latest Network Upgrade plan it helped me a lot to understand the design considerations, Cisco Design Standards. Based on this book I could able to come out with an excellent Network Design for the Organization which I am working on.
The topics are covered in detail and extensive, the best part of this book happens to be the organization of the chapters; there 12 chapters in this book. This deals with the topics like SONA, Enterprise Campus Network Design, Enterprise Data Design, SAN Design Considerations etc.
One more interesting fact which helps is the reference segment at the end of each chapter. If someone wants to achieve his CCDP this is the book, you should go for it. This is the right manual which can be used as a Study guide to achieve CCNP. Also this manual proves to be a helpful guide for reference.

The authorized self-study guide Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures is a pick for any college-level computer collection strong in CISCO frameworks and networks.

I recently passed the PMP exam using only RMC materials (Rita Mulcahy 7th Edition, exam simulator and flashcards) and although the exam was difficult and stressful, I can say with 100% certainty that the RMC materials prepared me to pass. Every PMP at my company used RMC materials–some as far back as 10 years ago–and I don’t know anyone at my firm who ever failed the exam. RMC has been doing this a long time, and their products are absolutely worth the premium price.

I found the book to be easy to follow and easy to break down into areas where I needed to concentrate the majority of my study. There is very little memorization involved. The book made all of the concepts understandable, and helped me figure out my gaps (where I needed to focus most of my study time). Overall, it was well written, suited my study plans and helped relieve most of my anxiety about taking the test.

In addition to the book, exam simulator and flashcards, I also ended up using the abridged audio CD version of the book (6th edition– 7th wasn’t available yet) as I got closer to my exam date. Although the audio version doesn’t contain nearly the same amount of content as the paperback, it was a good review tool for me during my commute.

The question that would be asked the most by candidates to Project Management Professional PMP examination would most probably be `How to study for the exam?’ Most would answer ‘read the books!’

There are many books that cover the syllabus in the PMBOK Guide; the official guide to taking the PMP examination published by PMI Project Management Institute themselves. Given only one other choice; beside the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide, of course; that book would be the `PMP Exam Prep 7th Edition‘ by Rita Mulcahy with Laurie Diethelm.

There are many reasons. The style of writing is easy and pleasant to the eye. I could open up the book at any page and could easily understand any of the concepts of Project Management as laid out by PMI. The approach to the subject adopted by the Book is similar to being in a study group; a thoroughly therapeutic and relaxing way to pick up skills as required by PMI. There are neither stressful moments nor `mountains-to-climb’ to cover the syllabus.

I could read the Rita Mulcahy 7th Edition Best Price and also easily relate the processes, the knowledge areas, the technical jargon to the experience that I went through when running my Projects. There are plenty of those moments when `light-bulbs’ popped up in my head whilst going through the book and realizations simultaneously burst out reinforcing that those same scenarios have been experienced by me in my previous Projects.
There are plenty of sample examination questions after each chapter that most accurately imitate the format, the style and the ‘quality’; the level of difficulty; of the PMP Examination.

There are tips and pointers on how to study and how best to prepare for the examination. These are practical ‘how-to’ and wise words from fellow PMPs who have gone through the whole process of ‘doing’ Projects and then studying to get themselves certified professionally by PMI.

There are topics on `Professional-and-Social-Responsibility’, list of References for further readings and plenty of Charts, diagrams and sketches to make the Book a thoroughly enjoyable and refreshing study material. There is also a CD enclosed consisting of the demo version of the renowned PMP exam simulation software.
I would not hesitate to recommend the book to anyone who wants to comprehend PMI’s Project Management philosophy and methodology thoroughly, on the way to pass the PMP Examination and be a certified Project Management Professional eventually.

The Haeger Natural 14inch Pizza Stone in the world bake pizzas one way – on all-natural stoneware. You can enjoy the same light and crispy pizza, panini and calzones at home using this commercial-quality NaturalStone. The 1″ thick composition lets heat rise evenly throughout the stone to bake all ingredients uniformly. Convenient backstop prevents food from sliding. Offset handles allow balanced control when lifting stoneware from the oven. NaturalStone will season over time, creating a cooking surface that releases food with ease. Performs best in conventional and convection ovens. Dishwasher-safe. Made in the USA. 17 1/2″L x 14 1/2″W x 1″H.

I have just started making my own bread, and this does a great job….a few people have seen my baking stone and like the idea of the handles to use along with the back lip so bread doesn’t go off the back when loading on heated baking stone. Have used the stone to make pizza as well, did a great job there too!
Note: I try to buy USA made, funny everyone wants jobs but doesn’t try to purchase things made in the USA. Take notice: this stone is made in USA, a great product along with being CHEAPER than those that I seen in the stores or on line that is made in CHINA. Do your part to get jobs back in USA…..purchase USA Made, take a moment and look. You will be surprised to find alot of times USA is cheaper than made over seas or about the same price!

By Jen (Ann Arbor, MI)

I got this Black Decker HV9010P Cyclonic Action Dustbuster specially to deal with my cat’s shedding and the mess she makes when she uses the litter box. Before, I was just using a broom and lint rollers on my furniture but just couldn’t take it anymore. This little vacuum does it’s job and it does it well. When I use it on my area rug though, my back does start to get tired, but I really can’t complain too much. I live in a small apartment and didn’t want to buy an upright vacuum, which would just take up even more room that I probably don’t even have. Anyway, I’m really glad I gave in and bought this because it’s making the upkeep of my apartment way more bearable!

By SophieC

I actually bought this as a vacuum my kids could use while I used our “real” one. Reading some reviews I figured it’d be lackluster, but if it picked up a few things it’d be plenty. After one day of using it, I’m not sure what other reviewers are unhappy with. I think it has AMAZING power. Picks up pet hair, does the couch wonderfully, and even gets larger things without a problem. Popcorn always clogs my dyson, but this little thing has no issue with it. Same with pet food. I believe someone complained that it’s cheaply made & that the collection bin doesn’t stay on. It has a top and bottom latch, you have to make sure both of those are in place, I was able to slide it off easily before I realized the bottom part of the collection bin hadn’t been placed all the way over the bottom latch that holds it in place. There is no way it comes off if both of those are in place. It’s loud, yes, but it’s a vacuum. I’m yet to find a quiet one. The price & power totally makes up for any excessive noise. I’ve not had any dirt come out of it or have it fall over. I think the cord is a good length as well. I have cats & 3 dogs, hair came up off the hard areas of flooring & the stairs, as well as any fabrics. Easy to use, even my 3 year old is able to use it without problems. Love it, way more than I was expecting. I’ll likely use this more than the regular vacuum.

This Chicago Metallic Deep Dish Nonstick Pizza review will be short and to the point. This pan is one of the better investments I’ve made while in college. I make roughly three pizzas a week using it. It has never failed to cook the dough nicely and evenly. The non stick on it is wonderful. The pizza slides right off very easily. I have been dumb a few times and used a pizza cutter on the pizza while it was still in the pan, thus cutting into the pan slightly. That can be expected to happen with any good, non stick pan. So, use a proper plastic or rubber spatula to cut it while the pizza is still in the pan, or take the pizza out before using a normal cutter.

Here is the recipe I’ve tweaked to use with this pan:

Dough:
3 cups all-purpose flour (bread flour and others can be substituted)
1 package yeast
1 cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
1/3 cup corn oil with a touch of extra virgin olive oil

Cheese and sauce:
At least one 12-oz package of sliced mozzarella cheese (shredded mozzarella also works)
1 cans of crushed tomatoes (pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce works, if that’s all you have)

Begin by mixing the yeast together with the water. After a minute add the sugar to the water and a pinch or two of salt. Then, add it to the flour. Slowly add the oil mix while you knead. Knead for roughly 5 to 10 minutes, adding flour if too sticky. Dough shouldn’t cling to your hand. Put in an oiled bowl, cover and leave in refrigerator to rise for at least 4 to 5 hours, but preferably over night.

Take out of fridge and let sit at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours prior to use. Preheat oven to 360°F. Oiling or buttering the pan makes the final result extra tasty, but it’s not necessary. Spread dough on pan and pinch it against the vertical rim.

Layer dough with cheese. (Chicago deep-dish pizza is distinguished by having the cheese as the bottom first layer.) If you’re going to add toppings (e.g., Italian sausage, garlic, onions, mushrooms, etc), put them on top of the cheese as the second layer. Finally, add the crushed tomatoes. Salt to liking, and you can also add Parmesan.

Bought two of these Hawking Technologies Hi Gain Wireless 802 11n (and higain antennas) for a wireless setup to stretch from a 3rd floor apt to a 1st floor apt. Returned both two weeks later.

1) After setting up the first unit, took the second downstairs to set it up as a repeater. Used the “quick wizard”. After that setup was able to see the router’s signal in a wifi scanner, but couldn’t connect to the router. Reboot didn’t work. Reset to factory didn’t work. Power cycle didn’t work. Power cycle followed by reset to factory didn’t work. It took me 45 seconds using the “quick wizard” to turn the thing into a brick. Returned it to Amazon.com for replacement. Then:

2) Got a repeating setup to work. Great signal strength (due to the two directional higain antennas, no doubt). Latency and throughput were horrible. Unusable. Asked a wireless expert at work and got the suggestion to reduce the “fragmentation packet size” and to turn on CTS. That worked – latency and throughput went to a reasonable (but not great) level. Don’t know why that wasn’t the default, but it wasn’t. The out-of-the-box values gave terrible performance. (Naturally, there was nothing about these parameters in the user manual.)

But the killer, and the reason I returned the whole kit, was:

3) During a period of 4 days of operation both boxes locked up and needed to be rebooted twice a day, at a minimum. These units were completely unreliable. Yes, I was running the latest software release (they came with the latest release installed).

It’s a shame. Repeaters are hard to find – in fact, I haven’t found any others currently made that I can use. I just bought a Netgear Rangemax WNDR3700 Dual Band Wireless-N for a local setup and noticed that in its manual it has a repeater mode. But if you want to use that mode you can’t use WPA or WPA2 – only the badly broken WEP. The Hawking specs are great: dual radios for the repeater for throughput, separate local and distance antenna sockets provided, designed for repeater use, able to use WPA2 when repeating, a weatherproof model designed for outdoor installation if you need that, etc. Too bad they don’t work for longer than a few hours at a time.

I should have known better than to try this product as the reviews are decidedly mixed – a bad sign. But I really really wanted a repeater setup, rather than a second internet connection + VPN between my two locations. So I gave it a try because I relied on Amazon.com’s great return policy. Thank you Amazon.com for making this experiment possible!
